Restaurant cleaning
Restaurant cleaning that is ready for the inspector every morning
Your line cooks close the kitchen at midnight after a double. Asking them to degrease the splash walls, scrub the floor under the fryers and detail the dining room washrooms on top of that is how corners get cut, and the health authority's inspection report is public. Owners and general managers across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland call CedarPact because the closing crew should be closing, not cleaning.

What a dirty kitchen costs a restaurant
CedarPact Facility Group cleans restaurants, cafés, quick-service units, pubs and commissary kitchens after close or overnight, on a written scope agreed with you before the first shift. Back of house, front of house and washrooms are itemized separately so nothing is assumed. You get a fixed monthly price, a dedicated account manager, and a consistent crew that learns your kitchen rather than a different face every week.
Environmental health officers from Fraser Health and Vancouver Coastal Health inspect food premises routinely and in response to complaints, and the reports are posted online where any guest can read them. Grease build-up on walls and floors, soiled floor drains and dirty washrooms are the kind of premises maintenance and sanitation items that get written up.
Grease is also a fire and slip problem. A film on quarry tile behind the line is how a cook goes down carrying a stock pot, and WorkSafeBC expects floors to be kept free of slipping hazards and spills not to accumulate. Pests follow food residue, and a pest finding is a far worse week than a cleaning invoice.
Front of house is where the review gets written. Sticky menus, a washroom with no paper and a floor under the booths that crunches underfoot undo whatever the kitchen just sent out. Guests rarely complain to a manager about cleanliness; they just do not come back, and they tell people why.

Request a quoteWhen restaurant cleaning gets done
Full-service restaurants are typically cleaned seven nights a week after the kitchen closes, often between midnight and six in the morning, because grease and food soil do not wait for Monday. Cafés and counter-service units with shorter hours often run five or six nights, with heavier floor scrubbing on slower nights. We build the schedule from your service hours, your volume and your lease access rules, and your account manager adjusts it around private events and seasonal hours.
Food premises rules and inspection readiness in BC
Food premises in BC operate under the Food Premises Regulation made under the Public Health Act, which requires premises to be kept sanitary and requires the operator, or at least one employee on duty, to hold FOODSAFE or an equivalent certificate. Health authority environmental health officers inspect routinely and on complaint, and reports are posted online. Our scope covers the sanitation items on those reports every night.
Our crews are trained in WHMIS 2015 and safe chemical handling, degreasers and sanitizers are stored and labelled correctly, and safety data sheets stay on site. We clean the exteriors of hoods, filters and ducts; interior exhaust duct cleaning is a specialized fire-safety service and is not part of a janitorial program, so we tell you plainly where our scope ends and a hood contractor's begins.
What goes into your price
Every building is priced on these six things, on the spot at your walkthrough.
- Size of your space
- How often we clean
- Washrooms & kitchens
- Floors & glass
- Supplies included
- Periodic deep cleans
Restaurants: questions we hear a lot
Not covered here? Call (604) 341-2325 and a person answers, not a call centre.
Can you clean while the kitchen is still running?
Nightly kitchen work needs the line shut down and equipment cooled, so we clean after close or overnight. For dining rooms and washrooms during service, a day porter can keep floors, tables and washrooms under control through a lunch rush or a weekend brunch without getting in your servers' way.
Do you clean the kitchen exhaust hood and ducts?
We degrease hood exteriors, splash walls and the surrounding surfaces as part of the nightly scope. Interior duct and hood system cleaning is a specialized fire-safety service done by hood contractors, and we do not pretend otherwise. Keep that on its own schedule and let us handle everything you can see and touch.
How soon can you start?
Your start date is set at the walkthrough, so you know it before your account manager leaves. We handle the switch for you: keys, alarm codes, supply closets and the checklist are sorted before the first visit, so there is no gap between your current cleaner and us.
Are you insured, and are your cleaners background-checked?
Yes. CedarPact carries $2,000,000 in commercial general liability insurance, is bonded and insured, and is registered with WorkSafeBC. Our cleaners are background-checked, uniformed and trained in WHMIS 2015 and safe chemical handling.
