Floor care
Floor care that stands up to Lower Mainland grit, salt and rain
Floors take more abuse than any other surface in your facility, and in the Lower Mainland they take it through eight months of rain. Grit, road salt and standing water get tracked across VCT, tile, concrete and carpet every day from October to May. CedarPact Facility Group provides scheduled floor care across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley that protects the finish, the slip resistance and the look of your floors.

How it works
We handle VCT strip and seal or wax, burnishing, polished concrete maintenance, tile and grout cleaning, hot-water carpet extraction and entrance matting programs. Floor work is scheduled after close or overnight so your staff and customers arrive to dry, finished floors. Each project comes with a written scope, and recurring programs are priced as a fixed monthly amount.
We assess each floor type, its current finish and the traffic it carries, then write a floor plan with frequencies: for example, nightly dust mopping, weekly auto-scrub, a quarterly scrub and recoat and an annual strip and wax. Crews use commercial auto-scrubbers, burnishers, wet-dry vacuums and portable or truck-mount hot-water extractors, with finishes and cleaners suited to each surface.
Work is scheduled after close or overnight, with wet-floor signage and sections completed in sequence so exits stay open. Staff are trained in WHMIS and safe chemical handling. Green-certified finishes and cleaners are available on request. Your account manager confirms dates with you in advance and documents each visit with an inspection report.

Floor care: questions we hear a lot
Not covered here? Call (604) 341-2325 and a person answers, not a call centre.
How often should VCT be stripped and waxed?
It depends on traffic and how well the finish is maintained between strips. A well-run program with regular burnishing and a scrub and recoat every few months can push a full strip out to once a year or longer. Entrances and checkout lanes in the wet season usually need attention sooner than back offices.
What do you do about salt and grit in winter?
Salt residue dulls finish and etches concrete, and grit acts like sandpaper under foot traffic. We add entrance matting inside and outside the door, increase dust mopping and auto-scrubbing at entrances, and use a neutral cleaner to remove salt film. The matting is cleaned or rotated on a set schedule through the wet season.
Can you extract carpets without closing the office for a day?
Yes. Hot-water extraction is done after close or overnight, and we run air movers so carpet is dry before staff arrive. We pre-treat traffic lanes and spots, extract in sections, and leave furniture on tabs or blocks where needed. Your account manager confirms the date and any areas to prioritize.
Do you maintain polished concrete?
Yes. Polished concrete in warehouses, dealerships and retail needs regular auto-scrubbing with a neutral or conditioning cleaner, plus periodic burnishing and reapplication of densifier or guard according to the manufacturer's maintenance guide. We follow that guide rather than applying a wax that was never meant for the surface.
