Day porter services
A trained porter on your floor while your doors are open
Night cleaning resets a building, but a lobby, food court or busy washroom does not stay clean for eight hours on its own. A CedarPact day porter works inside your facility during business hours, keeping entrances, washrooms and common areas presentable while your staff, tenants and customers are using them. It is the difference between a building that was cleaned and a building that looks clean right now.

How it works
Porters are uniformed, background-checked and trained to the same written checklist as our night crews. They restock paper and soap before dispensers run empty, respond to spills before someone slips, and keep glass, counters and seating tidy through the day. Your account manager sets the route and hours with you, and the service is priced as a fixed monthly amount.
We walk your facility with you to map the high-traffic areas and the times they get busiest, then write a porter route with checkpoints and frequencies. Porters carry colour-coded microfibre, a compact cart with the products in your scope, and wet-floor signage. Green-certified products are available on request. Shifts can cover a few hours at peak or the full business day.
Each shift is logged, and your account manager reviews the logs and inspection reports with you. Porters are briefed on your building's tenants, security procedures and escalation contacts so they know who to call. Urgent requests get a same-day response. Day porter service pairs with nightly janitorial under one contract and one invoice, or it can stand alone.

Day porter services: questions we hear a lot
Not covered here? Call (604) 341-2325 and a person answers, not a call centre.
What is the difference between a day porter and a janitor?
A janitorial crew does a full clean after hours, working through every room on the checklist. A day porter is on site while the building is open and focuses on keeping high-traffic areas presentable: washrooms, lobbies, food courts and entrances. Most facilities use both, with the porter maintaining what the night crew resets.
Can a porter cover just the busiest few hours?
Yes. Many clients book a porter for the lunch rush in a food court, the morning arrival window in an office tower, or weekend afternoons in a retail centre. We set the hours with you and adjust them in writing if your traffic pattern changes.
Will the porter interact with our tenants and customers?
Yes, and we train for it. Porters are uniformed, background-checked and briefed on your building, so they can direct a visitor, report a maintenance issue to the right person, or respond to a spill when a tenant flags it. They work quietly and keep carts and signage out of walkways.
Can the porter handle events in our building?
Yes. Porters can set out bins, keep washrooms stocked during the event, clear tables and spills as they happen, and reset the space afterward. Tell your account manager the date, expected attendance and layout, and we will schedule additional coverage for the event as part of your service.
