Disinfection & sanitizing

Disinfection done to the label, not the marketing

Disinfection only works when the right product sits on the surface for the time its label requires. CedarPact Facility Group provides scheduled and on-call disinfection and sanitizing for clinics, gyms, schools, offices and retail across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, using disinfectants that carry a Health Canada Drug Identification Number (DIN) and applying them according to the manufacturer's instructions for dwell time and surface type.

How it works

We do not make medical claims. What we do is clean first, then disinfect high-touch points and shared surfaces on a documented schedule, so you can show your staff, your tenants or your inspector what was done and when. Electrostatic sprayers give even coverage on desks, equipment and fixtures, and staff are trained in WHMIS and safe chemical handling.

Surfaces are cleaned of visible soil first, because disinfectants cannot work through dirt. We then apply a DIN-registered disinfectant by wipe or electrostatic sprayer, which charges the droplets so they wrap around handles, chair arms and equipment rather than landing only on the top face. The product is left wet for the full contact time stated on its label before any wiping.

The product is matched to the setting: food-contact surfaces, daycare toys, clinic equipment and gym mats each have different requirements. Each visit is logged with the areas treated, the product used and the dwell time, and your account manager provides reports on request. Disinfection can run as part of your nightly janitorial scope or as a separate scheduled or on-call service.

FAQ

Disinfection & sanitizing: questions we hear a lot

Not covered here? Call (604) 341-2325 and a person answers, not a call centre.

What is the difference between cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting?

Cleaning removes visible soil and many germs with detergent and water. Sanitizing reduces the number of germs on a surface to the level stated on the product label. Disinfecting uses a registered product to kill the organisms listed on its label when it is applied for the required contact time. We clean first in every case.

What products do you use?

Disinfectants that carry a Health Canada Drug Identification Number, which means Health Canada has reviewed and authorized the product. We choose the product by setting: a food-safe sanitizer for restaurant contact surfaces, a product suitable for toys in daycares, and the disinfectants a clinic's IPAC protocol specifies. Green-certified options are available on request.

Is electrostatic spraying safe for electronics and furniture?

Electrostatic application uses a fine mist and a small amount of product, and the droplets settle on surfaces rather than pooling. We follow the product and sprayer manufacturer guidance for electronics, fabrics and food areas, cover or avoid sensitive equipment where required, and ventilate as directed on the label.

Can you disinfect after someone on our staff reports an illness?

Yes. Call your account manager and we will arrange a same-day response, focusing on the affected areas and high-touch points across the facility. We will tell you which product was used and its dwell time so you can share that with your staff. We do not claim that a space is free of any particular pathogen afterward.
